I've never used this app myself, but I'd like to let everyone know that this app was not made to be entertaining, it's not a video game or a way to pass the time, it was made to be USEFUL, to be used by those who are visually impaired. So to all of the reviewers who have called this app "boring", I say: Calm down! It's a ACCESSIBILITY APP! Full Review

Perfectly capable app that does what it is intended to do. Here's a hint for the game-playing children out there - if you used the word "boring" in your review, you need to continue your education, OK kiddies? This isn't intended to push your small, purile little brain's entertainment button. Until you've grown up, please refrain from leaving reviews in places where only adults belong. Thanks very much. Now go out for recess. Full Review

I finally figured out how to turn this off by turning off automatic updates. I can keep that annoying box out of my way. It hinders you from reading and seeing your complete texts and other functions especially sending stuff. It should be an optional feature. It's a pain! Full Review

I can't keep it turned off. I know some people need it but God damn it most of us don't. It should be a SIMPLE SETTING TO TURN IT OFF until it is turned back on if ever. VOICE IS TOO LOUD. I hate this annoying time waster. Full Review

Well, it does it's job! It looses a point for being hard to turn off, it was a test of my mental capacity trying to turn it off! I felt like I was on The Crystal Maze! It took me 20 odd minutes trying to turn it off as it renders gestures useless, or if it doesn't I did something wrong. However it's great for helping me when I've not got my reading glasses on. My phone came with this already activated. I could find no way of turning it off and was about to send it back. I had one more try and managed to get rid of it. This is an utter nightmare and I now avoid it like the plague. 90% of people will never use this intrusive piece of junk so why not make it optional rather than impose it upon the rest of us? My "ok google" command should not be linked to this. This app stops multiple times a day. Now it's a system update and I have no choice. It is super glitchy and turn off my side buttons randomly. Because it's a system update I have to go through all the settings and correct them almost every day just to keep my phone working. Terrible!!! I love that this is an option for those that need it but it should also be an option not to have it. For those that do need it, it needs to work! Full Review

Select to Speak improvements :" 1) The FAB should be made transparent. 2) ‎ There should be a setting to reduce the output volume. 3) ‎ It is not able to read the text blocks in the Facebook app but able to read the attached link previews. 4) ‎ It has trouble reading text in the body of emails, it just hangs. 5) ‎ It should be able to read texts in a text field, paragraph by paragraph, rather than the whole thing. The initiative of this app is very good , because it helps the people who are struggling with eye problems or blindness . But it requires a lot of improvement , because it sucks up a lot many times. And it is very very difficult to use. I hope the developers get to know about my review and further develop this app so that it may become more useful to the needy ones. All the best developers. Full Review

I'm very hurt and drained because of this malicious app. I could not set my new Moto Z Turbo because of this app. I spent months on my my new device to not even enjoy it. I lose time at work and told I was crazy, on drugs and so on. So I used the Talk back lessons to go thru every word and character. Finally, Today on Thanksgiving:( I seen and heard that "TalkBack" was really spelled, "TalkVack"...V for Victor. I'm deeply depressed and this has reined my relationship with my fiance. This app isn't a a freaking GAME people! "This app is an accessibility service to help the blind and vision impaired..." All you dumb asses calling it boring isn't helpful. TalkBack has plenty of options to help the people that need it, though it can be a little difficult to navigate sometimes. The tutorial is kind of a pain and like someone else said it can be hard to get out of it and turn it off. Keep up the good work! Full Review

I just want a shortcut to turn "select to speak" on and off without having to turn all of TalkBack on. I don't need the speech bubble icon riding around my screen getting in the way 24/7, but I don't want to have to hunt through my settings every fleeping time I need it, either. The "accessibility shortcut" only turns all of TalkBack on. I don't need to heat my every movement on my phone narrated, I just need large chunks of text read out for me, which is not every minute of every day warranting an unhideable button on my screen every second of every minute. This is great for people who are completely blind, but for people who can see mostly okay but need help with some things, you've left us in the dust. Full Review

This app is very great especially "select to speak", but it would be better if you made the button of "select to speak" disappear and made it appear in the row that appears when someone highlights a word or a paragraph beside the "copy" button so as to make space in the screen and to avoid disturbance caused by the button?? I think that this will improve the app greatly!! I hope you listen to me! Full Review

The Google talkback is very comfortable and helpful for low vision and blind people. It has created a great platform for the visually challenged to use touch screen mobile despite of getting stuck up with the outdated keypad mobiles. In such context Google is offered a great privilege to head such a wonderful app that is really useful and makes specially challenged people feel extra special. And to all those who have mentioned that talkback as irritating should have been outdated with technology for not knowing the value of it. It is an inbuilt app that is optional for users to activate or not. Real wise people will feel the importance of it. A very big hats off to google for creating such a facility indeed improving and considering the development of all group of people in town. Full Review

It wants access to absolutely everything on your phone, everything that you type. Being Google I do not trust that this information won't be stored elsewhere and invade my privacy. Why not simply allow me to share the content that I want this app to read? Seems the most obvious way people would want to use this app, but then I guess Google wouldn't be granted access all private information on the phone so maybe that's why they have decided not to provide that simple feature.
